Mapflow - Geo-Underwriting Application

Frontend worked with Mapflow on the design of their geo-underwriting web application which employs geolocation techniques to improve pricing and risk assessment processes within the property insurance industry. By calibrating information such as the risk of natural disaster, locality to public infrastructure and insurance policy density, the application calculates the level of risk and insurability.

Frontend conducted extensive research in the area of insurance geo-underwriting to determine current and future requirements for the application. We produced a series of wireframe designs outlining key screens and task-flows as well as graphic design concepts of how the application could look in practice.

The chosen design employed an innovative minimal design where the User Interface elements are reduced allowing the user to focus on the all important geographic information to show through. The design also made use of layers of transparencies and white backgrounds emphasise the lightness of the application user interface.
